Good afternoon Mt. Carmel families,

Today we celebrate the Feast of Christ the King…the last Sunday in ordinary time, the end of the church year.  As we ready ourselves for Thanksgiving this week, and look at the busy weeks ahead leading up to the close of 2019, take time to appreciate the many blessings in our lives.

Here are the items of merit for this last week of November:

• Thank you to the National Junior Honor Society for assisting with our Thanksgiving Food Drive.  St. Vincent dePaul’s food pantry is now restocked due to the tremendous generosity of our school community.
• Second grade is the winning class in our food drive.  Their special lunch treat will be enjoyed after Thanksgiving break.
• There is still a waiting list for Win Big tickets.  Please return any unsold tickets ASAP so that they may be used.
• This Tuesday, 11/26, is the last meeting of the LEGO club.  Parents are invited to stop in at 3 PM and view some of the ingenious creations.
• On Wednesday, 11/27, we celebrate Mass together at 9 AM.  Please join us if you are able.
• Wednesday is “Ugly Sweater” day.  Please check recent e-mails for details.
• Our annual Thanksgiving Brunch takes place on Wednesday, following Mass.
• Wednesday is also an early dismissal day.  There is no after-care available.
• Looking ahead, we will be opening Santa’s Workshop the week of December 2.  Watch for details this week.

Thank you to all the families who returned their demographic surveys.  Tomorrow, a survey related to state funding will be sent home.
