Hello Mt. Carmel!
This weekend marks the official end of summer, as we welcome autumn on Tuesday morning. I hope everyone took advantage of the lovely weather, and is looking forward to comfortable temperatures like today’s for several weeks to come.
There are two events scheduled for this week that I would like mention. On Wednesday morning, the school will be watching the live-stream of the 8 AM daily Mass from St. Simon Stock parish. Since we are unable to gather as a school community for Mass, we will worship this way in September and October. It is my hope that by November, we can truly give thanks at Mass as a school family.
On Wednesday evening, we will be holding a virtual “Back-to-School” night. Opening remarks will begin at 6:45 PM, and classroom sessions will begin at 7 PM as follows:
- Junior high (with special area teachers) and Pre-K at 7:00 PM
- Kindergarten and 1st grade at 7:15 PM
- 2nd and 3rd grades at 7:30 PM
- 4th and 5th grades at 7:45 PM
Specific links for these sessions will be sent out by the classroom teachers.
Thank you to everyone for their patience as morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up procedures are worked out. Berlin Police have strongly recommended that drivers in the morning car line on Maple Avenue discharge students on the passenger side of the car only. For everyone’s safety, no one (parent or student) should be getting out of the car into the traffic lane. If your student needs assistance, please park in the lot closest to the church and walk your child down to the gym door.
Be well!
